I love the classroom. Mr. Avery is so creative. He is so awesome and so is Mrs. Reynold’s.
Dear Mr. Avery,
I think the pictures are great! I also think our classroom is so cool! I’m really glad to be in fourth grade.
Sincerely,
Alexus
Mr Avery,
What a creative mind you have – your students must feel truly blessed to be learning together with such an inspirational teacher. And I can certainly call you inspirational as wandering this site has planted seeds for my classes forays into the blogging world!
Plus I love Homework Battleship!
And I shall certainly have to find out how to add the interactive sections, like participating in the Challenge and adding winter adjectives!
I look forward to sharing your blog with my grade 2/3′s when we return to school after the holidays. Plus I can’t wait to see what you all do next!
Regards
Ms. M
Ms. M,
Thank you for your kind words! I do have to say, I think this blog has taken on a life of its own but much more so because of the student participation. I can’t take too much credit!
I’ve found Homework Battleship works exceptionally well. Students who have completed all homework assignments for the week get to guess on Friday. I use the orange pins to mark misses, greens to mark a hit, and purples to indicate sunken ships. Once they sink all the ships they’re rewarded with something like choice time or a movie. It usually takes a couple months before they sink all 7 ships.
We’d love if you shared your blog address with us. We always love exploring other blogs and seeing what other classes are working on!
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Mr. Avery
Dear Mr. Avery,
I remember when we had our first day of school and we couldn’t find where anything was. These are some great pictures. Keep up the good work.
From,
Jenna
Dear Mr Avery,
I like all the pictures of the class room. Nice way to keep all of us involved. Thank you for all your extra work.
Amanda’s mom
Dear Mr Avery,
It is very nice to see the pictures of your class room. I really like the class room battleship game. I want to be back in the 4th grade again.
Sincerely,
John (Natalie’s Dad)
Hi Amanda and Mr. Avery’s Class,
I enjoyed reading the journey of the SS Kennedy. This was my first visit to your web page and it has been very
enjoyable.
Thank you.
Gerry S.
Hello Amanda,
I just read the piece on photosynthesis and found it to be very interesting. It did remind me to move all my indoor plants to a sunny window. Thanks for the lesson.
Your Aunt Agnes
Hi Amanda,
The story on the Antartica was great. The pictures were amazing. My favorite was the one called Dry Valley.
It looks like a river flowing through the mountains. Keep up the good work. I will check in again soon.
Corey
Dear Mr. Avery,
I just wantesd to say I am very impressed with what you have the children in your classroom participating in.
They get to have fun while they learn.
Bravo!
Agnes M.
Dear Mr Avery,
Wow, what a great looking classroom you have! I’m sure all of your new students will love walking into the room and seeing everything you’ve organised!
Everything is looking very neat and tidy, which is just how I like my classroom to be too! Looking forward to seeing what you and your new students get up to!
Best wishes,
Miss Jordan
Dear Miss Jordan,
I can’t wait for the first day! There’s nothing better than a new group of students walking into the class for the first time.
I definitely try to stay as clean as organized as possible! Usually it’s much better organized on day one than it will be on day ten though!
I can’t wait to connect a new group of students with yours!
Sincerely,
Mr. Avery
I was wondering how you use your Homework Battleship…I need something for a reward and this looks cool, but not sure how to use it!! Thanks!
